What makes People Abusers

What makes people Abusers ? People don’t just decide one day to abuse someone else. There are circumstances and conditions that build up and lead someone to behave in ways that damage others. Anger, stress, frustration, lack of coping skills, lack of knowledge in relationship development are just some of the factors that can contribute to abuse, neglect and maltreatment situations. Abusers are people. There are treatment options that can rehabilitate and educate people who abuse others. Abusers may have problems so severe that they will need legal punishment as well as psychological treatment. No single plan works for every level of abuse or every family. Victims are people. They have been living a life that involves a damaging behavior and learning that behavior as a familiar aspect of life. If victims do not receive help and treatment, they too may become abusers later in life. There is no simple answer to what makes people become abusers. However, the simple answer that will reduce the number of abusers is for all adults to exercise prevention and awareness.
